The SPARKcon 2015 festival in downtown Raleigh just completed. I’ve been fortunate to attend each one, I think, since 2006. That’s around the same time the development in Downtown really began to kick in and this event is a prime example of community-based placemaking that has engaged citizens throughout the area. While it attracts a diverse of people I’d love to see more diversity of people putting on the activities. Not a complaint, just an observation of more opportunities ahead.
